Sigma Beauty Eyeshadow Base in Persuade - Review

I've been meaning to buy the Painterly Paint Pot or Soft Ochre from MAC, and the store I go to is always sold out or out of stock or just something, and I never thought about ordering it, so when I stumbled upon this Persuade shade from the Sigma Eyeshadow Bases, I added it to my cart to give it a try. This shade looks pretty similar to Painterly by what I have in mind, but I don't have the actual product to compare it to.

The packaging is pretty bulky if you ask me, compared to the size of the actual product your getting, I'm sure they could make it smaller, but whatever. The product itself is creamy but not too creamy in a way to slide off. It goes on the eyelids pretty easily and it covers any discoloration or veins I might have and it evens out my eyelids. The shade is a neutral, skin like shade so it looks very similar to my eyelid but in a pink tone, my skin is more yellow than pink. It doesn't feel sticky on the lids and eyeshadow goes on easily and it also doesn't make it go on patchy. One thing I learned with this product is less is more and it really is. A little goes a long way and once I used a bit too much and it got thick and sort of gross, so I recommend using a little at a time instead of just going in a lot at the beginning. I know I said the packaging is bulky, but it's pretty slick and very easy to clean if you forget about the size of it. My finger and any eye brush fit in it easily. There was a white plastic lid cover of sorts that came with it that protects the product to not get on the lid or keeps the air out and then the lid screws on, I kept that on it before closing the lid, and I am pretty sure that's what is making this not to dry out on me. Or maybe it's the product itself. Not sure what is making that happen, but I am happy to say that I have had this for a year I believe and it hasn't gone bad, works just like I first got it and it hasn't dried out. I use it whenever I do any sort of eyeshadow for my makeup, I still use an eyeshadow primer before this, because I find that when I double up on primer before any eyeshadow, it stays intact until I remove it at night.

I know pretty much every product I review, I say I like and that is honest truth. I research a lot about products before purchase, so I do a lot of positive reviews. This product is another one of those. I like it I recommend it. I might still give one of MAC paint pots a try after I have finished with this. All I am trying to say is that, I say it's good not because of the sake of just saying it, but because it actually is good and I enjoy using it and I am someone that if I don't like something, first I try to return it, if that's out of the option, I try to make it work for me somehow, and if that isn't working, I see if anyone around me might be interested in using it. It rarely happens that I get stuck with something I don't like at all. So there you have it folks. I hope you understand where I am coming from. I appreciate you sticking with me throughout this post and reading until the end. You are awesome. A big hug from me to you.

Have you tried any of the Sigma Eyeshadow Bases? What are your thoughts on it?

Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Skin Exfoliant - Review

"A powerful at-home alternative to in-office skin exfoliation procedures"

I got this deluxe size of the Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion from Sephora with my points, and if I'm correct, this was back in the beginning of summer. So around the month of May or June and I have been using it occasionally like once every few weeks. My skin is pretty sensitive and doesn't need exfoliation that often, but I like to do it once in a while. This skin exfoliate lasted me a pretty decent time even if it was just a small size. It's in a squeeze tube, the product is white and very grainy. You might not be able to tell in the photo, but on the skin it felt like sand but a lot more gentler. A little of this can cover the face and while I massaged it on my skin, it felt cooling and after I rinsed it off, it left a tingling sensation on my skin. (It smells a little minty as well) It felt really nice, I liked that this didn't irritate my skin, even though it might be considered quite abrasive for some people. My tip for a harsh exfoliator is to take half the size of the amount you usually use of your exfoliator, and add your skin cleanser to it. I find that doing this, it makes the exfoliator a lot less harsh and you also use a lot less, so it can last you a lot more. I did that sometimes with this if I felt like it was too harsh for my skin or if my skin felt more sensitive that day. I feel like that tip is very useful for me and might be helpful for you guys as well.

My overall thought of this skin exfoliant is that, it really works. My skin felt a lot smoother after I used this and it didn't irritate my skin at all. The only down side is the price. I checked the sephora website to see the price and everything, and this stuff is pretty expensive... I don't know how I feel about that and I am pretty sure I wouldn't purchase it. It was nice to get to try it out with my points, and if I happen to be able to get another deluxe size with my points, that would be awesome. I just wouldn't spend that much money on this product, even though it worked really well.

What is your favorite skin exfoliant product?

L'Oreal Lumi Powder Glow Illuminators - Review + Swatches

Left: Rose , Right: Golden - Swatches: All Colors mixed together
Left: Rose, Right: Golden - Swatches: Separately +  Clockwise from biggest section
I love highlighters, but I'm not one to be all that daring and use it all the time on an everyday basis. I have had my sights on the Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop highlighter from Becca Cosmetics, but it's expensive and I wasn't sure if I wanted to spend that much on just a highlighter. Don't get me wrong, it's gorgeous and I know what I'm talking about since I have seen it in person and I fell in love, but I sort of wasn't sure. I know some of you are going to say I'm crazy for not getting it, but as I said, I don't use highlighters all that much, and I couldn't bring my self to splurge. I have it in my Christmas wish list though (hint hint haha). Saying all this to say, when I saw these L'Oreal highlighters at my drugstore, with a coupon of buy any L'Oreal product, get the second free, which to be honest this sort of deal never happens usually, I snatched two shades that looked like it would work well for me.

The packaging is rose gold-ish color, plastic packaging, it opens up and the powder is right there, at the bottom of the powder, if sort of flips and there's a mirror and a tiny brush, which surprisingly is very soft but I honestly haven't used it to apply this, so no comment there. I have to say, the rose color on the packaging is like a sticker sort of, because when I peeled off the seal, as you might be able to tell in the first picture, it tear the packaging which was very disappointing to be honest. It doesn't look as nice anymore and that sort of bothers me. That's my very first impression I had when I opened this. Moving on.. Rose is a soft white shimmer with a very little hint of pink/rose to it and cool tone.  Golden is a soft gold with fine tiny gold glitters. It's on the warm side but not too warm either. very middle ground cool gold in a way. The powders both feel soft and smooth and decently pigmented, which is good for a highlighter, because it can be applied very softly or you can make it more intense by applying more, obviously. But I like the fact that the first application can be very subtle. In the pictures, the swatched are just one circle of the product swatched. You know how you circle a powder to get a feel for it or see the color, I did one full circle and then I applied it to my hand to show the color. so what you see in the swatch can be more intense if you want it to be. (just informing you of how I did the swatch photos). Golden looks more natural (if you can use the word natural for highlighter) on my medium skin tone, than Rose, but if I use a light hand and not go overboard with it, Rose can look quite beautiful as well. These last a long time on me, and I haven't had any issues with these going on patchy or have a lot of powder kick up when I put my brush in them. I like the fact that I can control the amount of product I apply since the first application can be very subtle depending on how much product you get on your brush, and build it up if desired.

Overall, I actually quite like these two. They look beautiful and work very nicely and I was very glad to be able to add these to my makeup collection. I think they work very good for what they are and as a drugstore product I was very surprised. I'm not saying these are anything close to higher end highlighters, but as a less expensive product, these are pretty good and look beautiful as well. I haven't had any issues with these two so far and I'm very glad and would recommend you guys to give it a try if you happen to see them in your drugstore, or like me are looking for a less expensive highlighter option.

Have you tried these L'Oreal highlighters? What are your thoughts on it? Also, tell me what your favourite highlighters are as well.

Benefit Gimme Brow - Review

Hello to you!! I hope you had a good weekend and an easy day so far. Today I'm doing a quick, short review for this tiny Benefit Brow fiber gel. I have heard good stuff about this, so I was happy to try it out for myself and see what everyone was talking about.

This little thing is really small. It's thin and if you have ever tried any of the travel sized or deluxe sample mascaras from Sephora, it's basically the same size. It comes in only two shades, light/medium and medium/deep. I have medium/deep. The brush is very small, so I would think this can work with any shape of brow, whether it's thin or thick. The formula is a on the wet side, it has fibers as well as colour/tint to it. It's very pigmented and a lot of product come out on the brush. I personally like to clean off the brush a little, so I don't get too much product and mess up in case. The gel sticks to the brows very easily and darkens it, it also fills in the sparse areas really naturally. It doesn't clump the brow hairs and also, it doesn't make them hard, as some would do. It dries not too quick, so I can work with it a bit, but it doesn't take long to dry either after I'm done with applying it. I've found that the very tip of the brush can be used to draw and the actual brush, to fill in any space and also darken the brow hairs. I personally use this in two forms. Just use it by itself for days that I'm either in a hurry and don't have time to spend much time on my brows, or for minimal makeup days that I just don't want to do anything specific and too defined. Another way I use this is, I use a brow powder and use this to set it, and darken my brows a bit as well as fill in any space I might have missed. The color of the tint is dark cool brown. It's not warm at all and I really like that about this. I like to use a more cool tone color for my brows instead of warm color. It looks more natural and not a obvious.

phewh! that wasn't such a quick sort review at wall now, was it? I guess I can't just give you some of my thoughts on a product. I have to include everything, which is how it should be anyways right? Overall, I really like this brow product. It's pretty expensive for this tiny tube but it works really well, so I guess that's the reason for the price.

Have you tried this product? What are your thoughts on it? Also, what is your favourite brow product similar to this one?

Tarte Maracuja C-brighter Eye Treatment - Review

"Refresh, renew and recharge tired eyes enriched with C-brighter technology. By harnessing the power of maracuja fruit, vitamin C and advanced botanicals, this skintuitive eye treatment visibly hydrates, firms and brightens the delicate eye area."

Today, I'm doing another post on another Tarte product and as I mention in every post I do from this brand, I have to say I can shamelessly (or not) say that I am obsessed with Tarte products. It started about 3 years ago and I have been addicted ever since, and I don't see this addiction going away anytime soon. This post is about the eye cream or treatment as they call it, and the first time I tried this, it came with a kit they included this in, and I believe it was the first time they launched this product. Since then I have used about two deluxe travel sizes and two full sizes as well, so I have been using this a long time as you can tell.

This eye treatment comes in a purple glass jar with wooden screw cap. I personally love the packaging, it's very beautiful and classy yet simple and I love how Tarte adds the wood finish into their products. It gives it a earthy but elegant feel that I absolutely love. The eye treatment is filled to the top with a plastic cover but of course I have used it so that's why the picture looks used and not that full. It is white in color and it has thick, smooth texture. A tiny amount will cover the entire eye area. It is fragrance-free and non-irritating and I like this for my normal to dry skin, very dry eye area. I love using this at night, because it gives a lot of moisture and hydration while I'm sleep. Another reason I like to use this is the Vitamin C in this. I usually include Vitamin C to my night time skin care. Also the fact that this has no SPF, makes it perfect to use at night instead of the morning. As for the testing if the Vitamin C works, I don't have any darkness under my eyes, just a slight shadow so I haven't noticed much difference since I started using this. If you want to purchase this because of the Vitamin C and want it to brighten the eye area, I don't think this is the best eye cream for that purpose. If you are looking for a moisturizing, hydrating eye cream, I definitely recommend this.
